3. Understand and Use the Evolution of Management - The emerging management approach involves getting “everybody improving the whole system”.

4. Develop a Collective Vision and Strategy – You know that top-down management has limited success for your organisation. There are ways to engage, enthuse and energise a cross section of staff and stakeholders.

5. Create A Culture of Integrity – Two signs of an integrity-based culture are (1) people are true to their word – beginning with management, and (2) there is clear and open conversation including openness about failures and mistakes. Other signs are covered in our free paper.

6. Marketing. Marketing, Marketing – The most common thing that causes organisations to fail to succeed is insufficient focus on marketing and not using a systematic approach to their marketing.

7. Support Staff in Their Development – Don’t underestimate the importance of staff development and learning to your organisational success. Where possible, make sure that the desire for such learning comes from the staff, not just management’s command.
